In 1962 Honda was launching the CL72 Scrambler and decided to show its reliability by asking Bud Ekins and his brother Dave to ride it. Ekins suggested riding from Tijuana to La Paz Mexico, along Federal Highway 1. 
952.7 miles of sand, rocks, and dry lake beds that would become one of the most famous races in the world: the Baja 1000.
They did it in 39 hours and 56 minutes.

In 1963 Bud Ekins was asked to double Steve McQueen for the infamous motorcycle jump over a fence in the movie The Great Escape.

This is a one-off vintage US Army helmet bag in new condition with rare patches we collected over the years.

Patches: genuine vintage 1979 Score Baja 1000, Triumph, and NOS Firestone, Champion. Angry Lane patches on the back.
