24H of Daytona was the first race of the 1970 World Sportscar Championship season. It was also the first race for the now iconic Porsche 917K.
Ex-Aston Martin race team manager John Wyer's Gulf-sponsored team finished 1-2 in the race and broke the distance record by 190 miles.
Drivers Pedro Rodriguez and Leo Kinnunen raced and broke the distance record by 190 miles completing 724 laps for a total of 2,751.2 miles
This is a one-off vintage US Army helmet bag in new condition with rare patches we collected over the years.
Patches: genuine vintage Gulf, Porsche, 24 Hours of Daytona, Bosch, Firestone, SEV Marchal, and Tag Heuer. Angry Lane patch on the back.
Handmade, hand-dyed "Remove before flight" leather tag.
