In 1955 Bud Ekins, an American stunt man and motorcycle racer won the Catalina Grand Prix riding for Triumph. 

The Catalina Grand Prix was a 100 miles motorcycle race held annually between 1950 and 1958 on the island of Santa Catalina off the coast of Los Angeles. The race was compared to the TT Isle Of Man.

In 1963 Bud Ekins was asked to double Steve McQueen for the infamous motorcycle jump over a fence in the movie The Great Escape.

This is a one-off vintage US Army helmet bag in good used condition with US Army 23rd Area Support Group Unit Crest print (post-Korean war) on the back and rare patches we collected over the years.

Patches: genuine vintage Triumph, Mobilgas, Dunlop, STP, and NOS Catalina Grand Prix. Angry Lane patches on the front and back. 

Handmade, hand-dyed "Remove before flight" leather tag.
